Meet a Mentor
Margaret is a business owner and a director in two IT startup companies. She loves working with new or established business people as they plan, grow and develop themselves and their staff. Margaret is a grants and tenders assessor on several government initiatives, and has a special interest in assisting small businesses achieve funding for innovation and growth.
Margaret's company commenced in 2003 and includes a division that develops 3d models, simulations and eLearning for organisations across Australia, and a consulting division providing research, evaluations, tender preparation and project management to governments and corporates.
The company is located in Brisbane and Melbourne, and uses agile technologies and flexible working to meet client needs. The company regularly wins awards and innovation funds to develop new technologies.
In recent years Margaret started a new company in Victoria along with two of her managers, and was invited to be a director on a new Queensland startup company. Her role in both startup companies involves governance, strategy and business development.
Prior to starting a business, Margaret was with the Federal Government, and earlier the Manager of eLearning at one of Victoria's largest TAFEs. Margaret has a long history in delivering business and management training, and in facilitating entrepreneur and innovation networks. She has qualifications in management, human resource management, marketing, and teaching. Margaret is an Advanced Queensland Community Digital Champion for 2016.
